About

Smart house tracker is an all inclusive tracking system specifically for tracking you throughout your house. As you move through your house, smart home tracker will perform typical house operations for you. Whether that means turning on and off lights for the individual room you are in or turning on your water heater when its your usual time for a shower.

Smart house tracker has a number of operations that the user can predefine as well. If you find yourself waiting for a cup of coffee in the morning, smart house tracker will allow you to customize routines so that your coffee is ready as you wake up.

Smart house trackers are small and compact, allowing for easy placement around the house. Simply place one down and activate it, and as you walk past with your RFID bracelet, smart house tracker will sense your movement and perform actions accordingly.

How It Works

We created smart house tracker by using arduino and python. We modified an arduino with an RFID/NFC shield, allowing for the arduino to communicate with other RFID/NFC devices. When the arduino senses a paired device, it will trigger an event to the server. There, the server computes the information being received from the arduino, like its room location, the current light status, and more. Once finding the corresponding action to the event, the server will relay information back to the smart house hub, allowing for seamless integration with your house lights, smart outlets, and more.
